Driving While Applying Mascara - Do I Really Have To Tell You This Is Not A Smart Move?

I don't know.  Perhaps it's because I don't wear make-up on a daily basis.  Maybe it's because I don't understand why someone can't take five minutes in the bathroom before settling in for the work day. It might be because I don't have to rush to an office any more.  But, can someone please explain to me why they would be applying mascara while they are driving on a busy Long Island Roadway?

I was on my way to Supreme Court in Riverhead and observed a woman holding the tube of make up in the same hand she was holding her steering wheel with, while she was brushing her eyelashes with the mascara wand with the other.  At the same time, she was leaning in to look at what she was doing in her rear view mirror. I seriously doubt that she had one eye on the road.

This fancy trick is dangerous for so many reasons.  I urge you to think twice next time you think you need a touch up or have to apply your whole face while you are on the road.  You are not only endangering your life, but the lives of those drivers near you. At least wait for a red light.  You can always get one eye done in the time you are waiting.  Then wait for the next light to finish up.
